About The Position

Auxiliary Aides will assist CNAs in the delivery of quality care services to our residents by helping to meet their non-direct care needs.

Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking
• Prolonged periods of pulling, pushing, and bending
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time

Responsibilities

• Transporting patients who are seated in wheelchairs to activities or the dining room.
• Clean residents’ closets and bedside stands, remove trash from the residents’ rooms, and serve meal trays to residents who can feed themselves.
• Make unoccupied beds.
• Restock clean linen carts.
• Transport soiled linen barrels to the laundry.
• Provide residents with fresh ice and water.
• Take the H.S. snacks to residents who can feed themselves.
• Answer the unit telephone and direct calls.
• Assist visitors as needed, where no direct resident contact is required.
• Maintain the neatness of the shower rooms/clean utility rooms/soiled utility rooms and unit pantry.
• Replace empty glove boxes in resident rooms.
• Read/write letters for residents if requested.
• Answer call lights to determine need only and provide help if no patient contact is required.
• Complete other appropriate duties as requested that are in keeping with the "no direct patient contact" requirement.
• Assist with activities if appropriate.
• Perform tasks as assigned by the charge nurse while following all applicable company policies and meeting all State/Federal regulations.
