The Milford Power Plant, situated in Milford, MA, is a cutting-edge energy facility with a capacity of 203 MW. This advanced combined cycle power plant harnesses the efficiency of natural gas, employing a sophisticated configuration featuring a Westinghouse 501-D5 gas turbine, Nooter Eriksen HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generator), and an ABB VAX steam turbine. This integrated system showcases the plant's commitment to leveraging advanced technologies for sustainable and reliable power generation. The Auxiliary Operator is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of facility equipment and systems, while adhering to safety and environmental regulations. Key duties include monitoring plant operations, performing routine inspections, supporting maintenance tasks, and documenting plant activities using a Computerized Maintenance Management System. The role also involves assisting with the development of standard operating procedures, conducting training, and ensuring plant cleanliness and security.

  • Maintain shift operating logs and records.
  • Operate and monitor plant equipment and systems.
  • Perform regular equipment rounds, take critical readings from instruments, and report abnormal conditions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Support mechanical maintenance tasks, inspections, and troubleshooting as required.
  • Assist in the development of standard operating procedures, as assigned.
  • Follow safe working practices, identify hazards, and take corrective action as approved by management.
  • Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System to document plant deficiencies, schedule work, and order materials.
  • Complete required plant training and assist in training others.
  • Unload, handle, and transfer bulk chemicals; take samples for analysis and testing.
  • Maintain plant housekeeping and security standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Two years of experience in power plant machinery operations and/or maintenance, with a fundamental understanding of CCGT power plant and/or water process operations, including related roles and duties.
  • Proven mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Basic PC skills for information processing and management.
  • General knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
  • Must currently possess a Massachusetts Second Class Fireman's License or be in the process of obtaining one.
  • Massachusetts Third Class Engineer's Operating License (preferred).
  • Massachusetts Licensed Forklift Operator License (preferred).
  • Initial starting compensation will range from $35.50 to $45.00 per hour, plus shift differential on all hours worked, and will include an annual performance bonus.
