About The Position

The Auxiliary Operator I position at NRG involves operating and monitoring auxiliary equipment and systems in a power plant environment to ensure the safe, efficient, and environmentally sound production of electricity. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Six months experience in farming, ranching, construction, mechanical, or operational work
• Reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the Limestone Station, Jewett, TX
• Valid Driver's License

Nice To Haves

• Possess or obtain within 60 days an Associate's Degree in Process Technology or related field

Responsibilities

• Recognizes safety hazards and follows safety guidelines.
• Operate, inspect, and monitor steam power plant equipment including auxiliary equipment and systems.
• Observe variations in operating conditions and interpret meter and gauge readings.
• Monitor and record data using various instruments and systems onto shift electronic logs.
• Perform checks on running and idle equipment.
• Perform routine cleaning of the work area.
• Arrange own transportation to work location and may be reassigned to another location as needed.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
