About The Position

Auxiliary Maint Technician Job Description 1.0 Responsibilities, including but not limited to: 1.1 Responding to any emergency or potential emergency. 1.2 Security diligence, including maintaining control of personal key cards, preventing unauthorized entry to the facility by non-Berry employees, and proper maintenance / security of Berry information and equipment within your direct responsibility. 1.3 Constant vigilance and participation in Food Safety practices. 1.4 Prevent nonconforming product from being shipped to customers. 1.5 Identify and record problems relating to product, process and quality system. 2.0 Authority, including but not limited to: 2.1 Initiate action to prevent occurrences of any non-conformity of product or quality systems. 2.2 Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels. 2.3 Suggest actions for continual improvement to products, processes, or systems and verify the implementation of solutions. 3.0 Primary Duties, including but not limited to: 3.1 Observe all Safety precautions, Food Safety requirements and Plant rules to prevent injury to self or others and to prevent loss of material or damage to equipment. 3.2 Follow and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). 3.3 Maintain good housekeeping and 5S. 3.4 Trouble shooting and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic aspects of production equipment. 3.5 Performs preventative maintenance within the Auxiliary department, infrastructure, and equipment as required by the Auxiliary Supervisor. 3.6 Able to keep records of work completed in work order system and communicate within the department and other departments. 3.7 Maintains safe, clean, and orderly work areas. 3.8 Diagnose equipment problems and make repairs and/or replacements of mechanisms such as solenoid valves, conveyor belts, drives, low voltage, and high voltage electrical systems. 3.9 Assist in scheduling Preventative Maintenance requirements for the Auxiliary equipment. 3.10 Able to apply historical data to improve inventory requirements/levels for spare parts. 3.11 Able to understand and follow food safety requirements per the SQF standard. 4.0 QUALIFICATIONS / Education Required: 4.1 Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs. 4.2 Maintain an attendance record within company guidelines and working required overtime. 4.3 High school diploma or GED equivalency. 4.4 Read, write and speak English. 4.5 Past experience / proven ability within the specified disciplines. 4.6 Negative drug screen test results. 4.7 Training required in one or more major areas of maintenance and/or two years of experience. 4.8 Possess functional knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair/maintenance on manufacturing equipment with one-year minimum practical application. 4.9 Possess basic knowledge and ability to use hand tools. 4.10 Possess good understanding of networking systems 4.11 Working knowledge of PLC’s required and HMI programming/troubleshooting 4.12 Basic computer skills, Excel, Word, Lotus Notes. 4.13 Able to pass the mechanical aptitude test. 5.0 Preferred Skills / Experience: 5.1 PowerPoint and Autocad are a plus but not required. 5.2 Programming experience preferred. 5.3 Statistical analysis understanding/experience 5.4 Electrical knowledge and experience in AC and DC 0-600 volts 5.5 Be able to read and understand diagrams, schematics and blueprints. Requirements
