About the position

We partner with customers to provide quality equipment, training opportunities and trusted support within the access industry. We are a global company, and our products-including mobile elevating work platforms, telehandlers, utility vehicles and accessories-can be found all over the world. You will play a key role in this mission by joining the Technology Development engineers with multiple tasks involving the subfields of Robotic Theory, Control Systems, Electronic Systems, Mechanical Systems and Computer Science. Through this position, you will design, analyze, and test autonomy systems as they apply to our industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop control systems using ROS 2, Parker IQAN or other relevant software development kits.
  • Prepare and perform tests in simulated environments such as Gazebo.
  • Develop finite state machines and behavior trees.
  • Design electrical schematics and build prototype harnesses.
  • Prepare concepts using CREO or other CAD software.
  • Perform system and subsystem level testing.

Requirements

  • Student pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related Engineering field with relevant Autonomy or Robotics research experience.
  • 3.0 GPA or higher.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of various degrees of information.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graduate student with research focusing on computer vision, autonomy, mechatronics, computer science or robotic theory.
  • Enjoys hands on work environment using electromechanical diagnostics skillset.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while prioritizing workload.
  • Flexible and adaptable to working under tight deadlines and/or changing needs.
  • Experience working with Controller Area Network (CAN) and the J1939 protocol.
  • Experience working with various ethernet protocols.
