The candidate in this role will be a key member of our clinical team, assisting with comprehensive daytime and overnight evaluations of infants and children with disorders of respiratory control. During our comprehensive inpatient evaluations, we determine the most effective way to optimize a child's ventilation and oxygenation needs with a variety of tracheostomy tube covers, ventilators (LTV, Trilogy, Astral, Vivo), and diaphragm pacing. The Autonomic Specialist collaborates with physicians, medical professionals, and families on a daily basis. The Autonomic Specialist will be responsible for communicating with patients, their families, and referring medical providers. The Autonomic Specialist will perform a variety of outpatient autonomic tests such as: Head-up-Tilt (HUT) testing, Thermoregulatory Sweat Test, Pupillometry, Peripheral Skin Temperature measurements, Heart Rate Deep Breathing, Valsalva Maneuvers, ventilatory challenges, and QSWEAT testing.
