Automotive Wheel Remanufacturing Technician

As a Wheel Remanufacturing Technician , you’ll work overnight in our Newburgh, NY facility, restoring wheels to like-new condition. You’ll repair cosmetic damage such as curb rash, scrapes, gouges, oxidation, and bent wheels using spray-painting equipment, power tools, and precision techniques.
Requirements
- Training available for candidates eager to learn and grow with us.
- Previous experience in wheel repair or automotive service preferred
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and painting equipment
- Ability to work independently and follow safety procedures
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Willingness to work overnight shifts and overtime as needed
- Ability to lift up to 65 lbs
- Frequent standing, kneeling, bending, and squatting
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Responsibilities
- Inspect wheels for cracks, bends, and other damage
- Disassemble wheels (remove tires, valve stems, etc.)
- Clean, sand, and prep wheels for repair
- Weld, straighten, and apply filler to damaged areas
- Paint and refinish wheels to match OEM or customer specifications
- Reassemble and balance wheels using tire changers and wheel balancers
- Perform final inspections to ensure safety and appearance standards
- Mix paint colors using standard formulas or color charts
- Operate CNC machines and other specialized equipment
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and customer specifications
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for wheel remanufacturing processes
- Communicate with internal teams and occasionally with customers
