About The Position
Diagnose transmission problems using specialized diagnostic equipment Perform routine maintenance on automatic transmission systems Repair or replace damaged or worn-out transmission components Test drive vehicles to identify transmission issues and verify repairs Conduct comprehensive inspections of transmission systems Utilize technical manuals and schematics for repair procedures Perform fluid changes and flushes for transmission systems Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to resolve complex issues Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance activities Stay updated with the latest advancements in transmission technology Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and offering maintenance advice Adhere to safety protocols and ensure a clean work environment Earn up to $50 per hour based on experience and performance
Requirements
- Certification from a recognized automotive training program
- Previous experience working specifically with automatic transmissions
- Strong diagnostic skills using modern diagnostic equipment
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity
- Good communication skills and customer service experience
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
- Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems
- Familiarity with automotive software and computer systems
- ASE certification in vehicle transmission systems
- Proficiency in using technical manuals and repair guides
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an automotive repair or mechanical training program
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive repair
- Strong understanding of automatic transmission systems
- Ability to use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment
- Basic computer skills for diagnostic and repair software
- Valid and clean Driver’s record for the past two years
- Pre-employment background check and drug screening required
