About The Position

The Automotive Technology department is seeking a positive, supportive, and dynamic Automotive Instructor to teach a diverse community of learners. Teach with excellence a full range of automotive coursework. Participate collaboratively in curriculum review and development, outcomes assessment, advisory council activities, projects, and other department or College activities. MCC was created in 1974 when the Nebraska State Legislature consolidated the original eight technical community college areas into six. That year, the programs, personnel, assets and liabilities of the former Omaha Nebraska Technical Community College Area merged with the Eastern Nebraska Technical Community College Area under a new name: the Metropolitan Technical Community College Area. In 1992, the Legislature voted to change the name to Metropolitan Community College Area. Requirements

  • 8 years of FT related occupational experience or approved Journey-worker status OR 4 years FT related occupational experience PLUS Associate’s degree in career field OR 2 years FT related occupational experience PLUS Bachelor’s degree in discipline or related discipline.
  • ASE Master Certification required
  • A teaching demonstration is required as part of the interview process.
  • Hiring process includes passing a background check.
  • The position is contingent upon MCC Board of Governors approval.

Nice To Haves

  • Higher Education / Community College teaching experience preferred.
