About The Position
This position is classified as an Automotive Technician within the Department of Real Estate and Asset Management. The primary purpose of this classification is to perform mechanical duties related to the service and repair of automotive and light equipment. This includes inspecting, repairing, and maintaining County vehicles, servicing and/or replacing components in vehicles, and overhauling and rebuilding systems. The Automotive Technician role is distinguished from the Senior Automotive Technician position, which is a journey-level role responsible for providing lead direction in diagnosing, inspecting, repairing, refurbishing, overhauling, and/or rebuilding heavy and light vehicles, equipment, components, systems, and accessories for County equipment and vehicles.
