About The Position

America’s Auto Auction (AAA) is a full-service used-vehicle auction services provider that facilitates the wholesale remarketing of used vehicles for (Business to Business) B2B customers, delivering a critical liquidity function to enable the used car sales ecosystem. Based in Jeffersonville, IN, AAA facilitates the selling and buying of used vehicles at physical auction sites across 20 states as well as on digital platforms. The Company’s daily mission is simple and straightforward: to provide high quality service and operational execution for dealers and institutional customers. America's Auto Auction – Jeffersonville, IN is looking for an outstanding Mechanic Technician. The Mechanic Shop Technician diagnoses and repairs cars or light trucks. Other duties of the automotive service technician include inspecting vehicles, performing routine service and keeping records of work done. Day-to-day duties expected of automotive service technicians include the analysis of cars to determine what is wrong in unique circumstances, the use of testing equipment following repairs to ensure that automobiles are safe to drive.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Punctual
  • Must have a valid Indiana's driver license and automobile insurance
  • Ability to work in a high performance, fact-paced team environment
  • Ability to adapt to and work effectively within a constantly changing environment
  • Proficiency with shop tools, equipment and diagnostic equipment
  • Good knowledge of the diagnosis, maintenance and repair of heavy and light duty gasoline and diesel engines and related mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic component systems
  • Excellent customer service and problem solving skills required
  • Positive atittude

Nice To Haves

  • Auction/Dealership experience strongly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical inspections and basic to moderate repairs on inventory or sale vehicles
  • Diagnose drivability issues, safety concerns, and mechanical failures utilizing diagnostic equipment.
  • Assist with preparing vehicles for sale—including quick fixes and test drives
  • Collaborate with the inspection and reconditioning teams to meet deadlines
  • Keep repair documentation clear and complete.
  • Work through complicated issues in a timely manner
