About The Position

Round Rock Honda, a Penske Automotive Group dealership, is actively seeking an experienced Honda Automotive Technician / Flat Rate Technician to join our high-performing service team and help deliver an exceptional customer experience. As a Honda Automotive Technician, you'll perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance in accordance with Honda factory standards and dealership time guidelines.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of dealership or automotive technician experience required
  • Honda experience preferred but not required
  • Strong diagnostic, mechanical, and electrical repair skills
  • Safe and proficient use of shop tools and diagnostic equipment
  • ASE certifications a plus
  • Positive, team-oriented attitude with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, flat-rate production environment
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to listen to customers and determine how to assist them
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Knowledge of automotive systems, tools, and repair processes
  • Outstanding attention to detail with a commitment to quality
  • Ability to use technical reference materials and technical manuals in written and online formats
  • Ability to communicate technical terms to non-technical audience
  • Ability to follow processes to ensure quality and safety
  • Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize
  • High school diploma or the equivalent and two-year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Honda experience preferred but not required
  • ASE certifications a plus
  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • ASE Certification is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure our customers have a world-class service experience at every step along their ownership journey, especially in vehicle repairs.
  • Provide an unparalleled level of technical knowledge and expertise to help repair and maintain vehicles to the highest factory and dealership standards.
  • Clearly and effectively communicate technical information regarding customer vehicles to Service Advisors.
  • Comply with all manufacturer standards of quality and timeliness for repairs and maintenance work, and ensure that all estimates and work orders are accurate.
  • Understand and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations that affect shop operations, such as handling and disposal of hazardous waste, OSHA, and use of safety and health personal protective equipment.
