About The Position

Automotive technician responsible for diagnosis, service, repair, and modification of customer and company vehicles, as well as test fitment and evaluation for product development. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs vehicle diagnostics, service, repair, and performance upgrades on a wide range of makes and models at a high level of quality and efficiency. Performs custom vehicle restoration or performance modification projects, which may include minor fabrication work. Interacts with customers and Supervisor to determine customer’s needs, provide parts and repair recommendations, estimates, and status of work being completed. Orders parts as needed to complete the jobs in a timely manner. Keeps accurate records or work completed as required for billing and accounting purposes. Assists engineering team with product development with vehicle disassembly for reverse engineering, and product installation for fitment, performance, and durability evaluation. Provides product installation and fitment feedback to engineering, and keeps details notes of observations or fitment problems of all related components. Assists with diagnosis and maintenance of shop equipment. Maintains a clean and organized work area. Maintains the inventory of company and personal work tools. Keeps the vehicles worked on and the work area as clean as possible. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Competencies: Thorough understanding of automotive systems and repair, with strong background in performance modification. High level of mechanical aptitude, with ability to diagnose and repair electrical and drivability problems. Experience with classic automotive repair and restoration. High attention to detail, with a high standard for quality of work. Minor fabrication / welding ability. Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate detailed technical concepts. Ability to work in a collaborative team environment, balancing team and individual responsibilities. Ability and desire to learn from team members, and learn from mistakes with a positive attitude. Effectively manages time and priorities to hit project timeline goals. Basic computer skills are required with a working knowledge of MS Office. Requirements
