We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Journeyman Technician who is passionate about high-quality repair and committed to mentoring the next generation. Core Responsibilities As a Journeyman Technician, you will lead the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of a diverse range of cars, trucks, and motorhomes. Technical Excellence & Diagnostics Advanced Repair: Diagnose and repair complex systems: engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, alignment, brakes, and A/C. Transparency: Perform Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVI) on every vehicle to ensure shop-to-customer clarity. Precision: Execute repairs using correct procedures, manuals, and diagrams; utilize advanced diagnostic tools and specialized equipment. Mentorship: Train apprentices and junior technicians, elevating the team’s collective skill set. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of services, parts, and diagnostic results. Communicate needs immediately to Service Advisors. Shop Safety & Standards Maintain a clean, organized bay and comply with all PPE and safety regulations. Perform "final-touch" details to ensure vehicles are returned in peak condition. Report any unsafe conditions to the Production Manager immediately. Requirements & Qualifications Experience: 4+ years of hands-on professional automotive repair and diagnostic experience. Licensing: A valid driver’s license is required. Tools: Must own a comprehensive set of professional-grade tools. Certifications: Must obtain 609 Certification within 30 days of hire. Commitment to obtaining at least one ASE certification within one year. Commit to 40 hours of additional professional training per year. Communication: Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly. Working Environment & Physical Demands Physical Activity: This is a physically demanding role (70%+ of the workday). Requires heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds. Mobility: Ability to stand for long periods; frequent bending, reaching, stretching, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Ability to reach above the head for long periods of time. Dexterity: Must have excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for intricate repairs. Environment: Work involves exposure to loud noises, extreme temperatures, fumes, and odors. Candidates must be able to maintain focus in a busy, high-energy workshop while adhering to strict safety protocols.
