Berman KIA in Lincolnwood is seeking motivated and enthusiastic KIA Technicians at the Semi-Skilled through Journeyman level to join our dynamic and growing service team! Job Title: Automotive Technician Location: Berman KIA – Lincolnwood, IL Pay Scale: $20.50 - $47.50/HR (Based on Experience, ASE Certifications, and/or Training) Key Responsibilities: Assist with diagnostic testing and troubleshooting for both mechanical and electrical issues. Work alongside senior technicians on more complex repairs, including engine, transmission, and suspension work. Perform multi-point vehicle inspections and report findings to service advisors. Ensure all repairs and maintenance work are performed according to KIA brand standards and procedures. Participate in ongoing training programs to continue advancing technical skills and obtain higher KIA certifications. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace, adhering to all safety protocols and standards. Communicate effectively with the service team to ensure smooth workflow and customer satisfaction. Requirements
- Completed basic or introductory KIA technician certifications (or in process of completion) or ASE Certifications
- At least 2 years of experience in an automotive repair or maintenance setting required.
- Enthusiasm for learning and hands-on technical work is essential.
- Basic understanding of automotive systems (engine, transmission, suspension, electrical, brakes). Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment is a plus.
- Ability to work in a team environment, follow instructions, and take direction from senior technicians.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, and a willingness to learn and improve problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in various conditions (indoors and outdoors, sometimes in noisy environments).

- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment is a plus.
