About The Position
The Automotive Technician at UPS is a vital role within our fleet maintenance team located in Seattle, WA. This position is designed for a reliable individual who will be responsible for maintaining a diverse range of equipment, including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty on-road tractors, and trailers from various manufacturers. The vehicles serviced include those powered by diesel, gasoline, and alternative technologies such as compressed natural gas, liquefied natural gas, propane, hybrid, and electric systems. The Automotive Technician will be expected to troubleshoot and maintain various systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls, ensuring that all vehicles are safe and operational for our delivery needs. The role requires flexibility in working hours, as Automotive Technicians must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including schedules from Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday, or Tuesday through Saturday, depending on the location's needs. The current available shift is from 6:30 PM to 3:00 AM. Technicians must possess the necessary hand tools to perform their job assignments effectively. This position not only demands technical skills but also physical stamina, as the job involves bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and climbing, among other physical activities throughout the workday.
