Requirements

• A clean & valid New York State Driver’s License
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to read, and comprehend instructions and information
• Professional appearance and ability to work well with others
• NYS inspectors license
• At least 3 years MB experience
• Proficient in Netstar, Xentry & WIS
• Working knowledge of shop equipment including but not limited to wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Diagnostic Technician; report to the Service Manager, Shop Foreman, and Dispatcher.
• Mount, rotate, balance and change tires.
• Examine the vehicle to identify necessary repair or maintenance items that may not be included on the repair order, and communicate to Service Advisor.
• Communicate with the Parts Department to obtain parts. Follow warranty material disposition procedures.
• Notify Service Advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined on repair order is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed by the time promised.
• Clearly and accurately document all work performed.
• Road test vehicles as required, or refer to the inspection technician as appropriate.
• Only perform work that is authorized by the customer or by the warranty.
• Inform Service Advisor and Foreman of all work that cannot be finished by the end of the shift.
• Wheel alignments.
• Tire changes, rotations, and mounting.
• Inspect all work as described on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Mercedes Benz factory and Rallye Mercedes standards.
• Examine and test-drive all vehicles to ensure that the cause of vehicle malfunctions, and recommend/ perform repairs are completed. Communicate all discrepancies to the Service Manager, Advisor, or technician.
