The Office of Fleet Management is looking for an ASE Certified automotive mechanical repair technician. Below is a summary of the responsibilities and knowledge needed for this position. Key Responsibilities: Performs complex automotive mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, diagnostics in an automotive repair and maintenance garage environment. Provides senior grade training assistance and mentorship to less experienced automotive mechanics. Observes and advises shop supervisor of the quality of repairs being performed. Performs major mechanical repairs and computer diagnostics on powertrain management systems. Conducts the removal, mechanical repair or replacement of major mechanical component assemblies such as engines, transmissions, transfer cases and drive axle assemblies. Performs precise diagnosis and mechanical repairs on automotive system modules and electronics utilizing the most current diagnostic equipment, utilize their knowledge and experience to mentor, train and assist all other team members when needed. Possess expert level brake systems knowledge and skills. Performs accurate analysis and mechanical repairs to correct automotive drivability issues including drivetrain and driveline components and suspension. Performs accurate troubleshooting repair and service on automotive heating ventilation and air conditioning systems utilizing the most current service and test equipment. Performs preventive maintenance procedures including oil changes, vehicle inspections, tire rotations, tire mounting and balancing. This position is for a Highly Skilled and ASE Certified automotive mechanic who looks forward to being mechanically and technically challenged.
