The Automotive Technician II is responsible for diagnosing, inspecting, and performing minor repairs and adjustments on motor vehicles and accessories to maintain them in proper working order. This role includes assembling, installing, repairing, and removing special automotive equipment, conducting comprehensive safety inspections of fleet and maintenance shop, and scheduling vehicles for routine maintenance and repair by private vendors. The technician will coordinate fuel shipments, manage hazardous waste materials, and maintain vehicle service islands and wash bays. Responsibilities also include reviewing invoices for services completed, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring compliance with the Fleet Operations Manual. The technician will change flat tires, monitor contracts related to automotive service, and input all services and repairs into the Fleet Focus Information System. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
