About The Position

Maintains and repairs a wide variety of automotive and specialized equipment. Performs difficult and skilled mechanical repairs in diesel and/or automotive equipment and advanced automotive computer diagnostics.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an automotive/heavy equipment mechanic with at least one (1) year of experience performing repairs to diesel equipment and/or advanced automotive computers
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment
  • Must provide own hand tools
  • Hearing Loss Test required for selected candidate

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with: Front-end alignment
  • Experience with: using scanner tools/equipment analyzer/On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) II systems
  • Three (3) years of experience troubleshooting and repairing diesel and gas engine systems, Auxiliary Power Systems (APS), hydraulic systems and controls, equipment powertrain and drivelines
  • Completion of a vocational/trade school program in Automotive/Heavy Equipment or related field
  • Current ASE Master Technician Certification (copy of Certification must be uploaded to online application by 5:00 P.M. on the closing date)
