Automotive Technical Specialist – As a paint specialist you would be responsible for performing high-quality damage repairs using advanced techniques and other automotive repair methods. This role involves assessing vehicle damage, executing repairs with precision, and ensuring compliance with manufacturer and industry standards. The specialist will work in dynamic environments including mobile repair units, rail yards, or client sites and collaborate with customers to deliver a seamless, high-quality repair experience.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive paint repair
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team leaders, senior management, client and repair shops.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with vehicle systems, including body panels and minor mechanical components.

Responsibilities

  • Damage Assessment : Inspect and evaluate vehicles for hail damage, overspray, or other weather-related issues, providing accurate damage assessments in coordination with insurance adjusters.
  • Smart Repair Solutions : Execute specialized paint techniques for chipped paint, scratches and dents ensuring cost-effective and high-quality outcomes.
  • Paint Repairs : Perform expert-level Paint repairs that include Body, Prep, R&I, and WSB to manufacture automotives to repair dents and dings, preserving the vehicle’s original factory finish without compromising paint warranties.
  • Component Replacement : Coordinate replacement of damaged parts such as glass, trim, or sheet metal.
  • Quality Control : Conduct thorough quality checks using light tunnels, portable lights, and other tools to ensure repairs meet or exceed manufacturer’s standards.
  • Customer Interaction : Communicate effectively with the project manager to provide updates and ensure a hassle-free experience.
  • Mobile Operations : Operate within mobile repair units equipped with internet access, tunnel lights, and necessary tools to perform repairs at client locations, rail yards, or storage lots.
  • Documentation : Prepare accurate and timely reports, including project tracking, repair logs, and quality control reports to maintain clear communication with internal teams and clients.
  • Safety Compliance : Adhere to safety protocols to minimize risks during repairs, including proper use of tools, personal protective equipment, and safe lifting techniques.
