About The Position

Saint Paul College seeks energetic and dedicated individuals to apply for an unlimited, full-time Automotive Services Technology Instructor position. The instructor is responsible for all activities related to teaching and learning including, but not limited to instructional planning & curriculum development, teaching & learning, instructional facilitation, student evaluation, student records, student recruitment, retention and advising, student placement, classroom preparation and management, interpersonal relations, effective team member skills and duties, maintenance of professional skills and credentials. Assignments may include some combination of day, evening, online, Saturday, and/or off-campus classes.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma or equivalent certificate in automotive services technology.
  • Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in automotive service technology.
  • One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field.
  • Current ASE certification in the areas in which the faculty member is teaching.
  • Experience working in teams in a fast paced, interactive environment.
  • Course construction (credit course), teaching/instructional methods (credit course), student outcomes assessment/evaluation (credit course), philosophy of community and technical college education (credit or non-credit course).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with hybrid and EV technology either in teaching or training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom instruction, evaluate and advise students.
  • Develop and/or revise curriculum.
  • Participate in department meetings, program advisory committee meetings, and college-wide events.
  • Maintain technical knowledge in the field through active participation in professional development organizations and events.
  • Promote and recruit programs within and outside of the College.
  • Promote diversity and cultural competency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean or Vice President of Academic Affairs.

  • Salary Minimum $43,067
  • Salary Maximum $94,542
  • Benefits based on the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) and the State of Minnesota.
