Requirements

  • No prior experience required — a passion for vehicles and a willingness to learn is all you need
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong communication and time management
  • Clean, valid driver's license
  • Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Some automotive experience or schooling preferred
  • Must have own tools
  • Demonstrated automotive repair experience
  • ASE certifications preferred (reimbursement available)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Automotive Technician
  • ASE Certification required; Master Technician certification preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of automotive systems, mechanics, and components
  • Strong diagnostic, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Responsibilities

  • Perform oil and filter changes
  • Rotate tires
  • Inspect and top off fluid levels (coolant, brake, power steering, washer fluid)
  • Perform basic multi-point vehicle inspections
  • Keep work area clean and organized
  • Document services performed on repair orders
  • Communicate findings to Service Advisors
  • Mount and balance tires
  • Inspect tires for wear, damage, and proper inflation
  • Install TPMS sensors
  • Replace engine air filters and cabin air filters
  • Replace wiper blades and windshield wipers
  • Replace bulbs (interior and exterior)
  • Check and test battery condition
  • Inspect brakes for wear (visual inspection only)
  • Inspect lights, horn, and wipers for proper operation
  • Install accessories and add-ons (floor mats, mud flaps, etc.)
  • Perform brake inspections and replacements
  • Perform fluid flushes and related maintenance services
  • Conduct thorough pre-owned vehicle inspections and repairs
  • Perform wheel alignments
  • Replace shocks, struts, and steering components
  • Replace CV axles, tie rods, and ball joints
  • Replace belts, hoses, and water pumps
  • Perform cooling system repairs
  • Replace starters, alternators, and batteries
  • Perform A/C recharges and basic climate control repairs
  • Read and interpret basic diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)
  • Assist A-Techs with complex repairs and teardowns
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot vehicle issues
  • Replace worn or damaged parts including brakes, bearings, and sensors
  • Test drive vehicles before and after repairs to verify performance
  • Complete repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
  • Communicate with Service Advisors to keep customers informed on repair status and timelines
  • Provide accurate and detailed reports of all repairs and services performed
  • Mentor and support junior technicians in skill development
  • Continually maintain and update technical knowledge through training and certifications
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations
