Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Automotive Service Technician specializing in heavy truck and diesel engines.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Ability to use diagnostic equipment and tools effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license and own transportation to and from work.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • 2+ years of Service Technician experience required
  • Broad knowledge of new vehicle technologies
  • Ambitious, hardworking presence in a team environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic environment

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems on heavy-duty trucks and diesel vehicles.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections on heavy trucks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify faults and malfunctions.
  • Work closely with service advisors and team members to provide accurate estimates and repair timelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and inspections performed.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while servicing vehicles.
  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies and procedures.
  • Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are well-informed of any additional services needed.
  • Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
  • Executing repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
