The Automotive Service Porter - Shuttle Driver works alongside the Service Advisers and Service Managers to help move customer vehicles from the welcome area to the technician bays. In addition, he or she provides shuttle service for customers needing transportation to and from work or home. The Porter will also work with the service detail department to clean service customer vehicles. This includes washing, waxing, vacuuming, shampooing, buffing etc. Shuttle Driver performs routine vehicle maintenance and maintains the cleanliness of the shuttle vans. Most importantly and without exception, he or she operates within the legal speed limits and in a safe fashion at all times. The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or GED, an unrestricted driver's license and a clean driving record, and can drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles. He or she must have basic mechanical skills to perform minor vehicle maintenance, such as checking and topping off fluid levels, maintaining tire pressure, performing vehicle safety checks (visual inspection of wipers, tires, etc.), and maintaining the vehicle in a clean condition (interior and exterior). Fluent English speaking and written communication skills, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.
