About The Position
Jackie Cooper Mercedes-Benz is currently looking to hire exceptional people who desire a career path in the automotive dealership industry. One of our entry-level positions is the Automotive Service Porter. The Service Porter position helps ensure complete customer satisfaction by moving vehicles in and around the service area/lot, maintaining the cleanliness of vehicles and the service drive and customer areas. Additional tasks related to service porter are: delivering vehicles to customers after service, and transporting customers to/from their home when needed. This position is fun, stress-free, and allows the team member to work with and have access to other roles inside the service department. We believe in hiring from within, and this position is a great start to your career in Automotive Service. The ideal candidate has a high energy level, a desire to work in a fast paced environment, and a valid driver’s license. Candidates must have a positive attitude and must be able to safely maneuver vehicles in tight and small spaces. Previous experience not required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
- Able to safely operate motor vehicles in tight and small spaces
- Highly professional and dependable
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Basic computer and internet skills

- Experience in a similar role a plus
Responsibilities
- Driving vehicles on site for purpose of work
- Installing protective coverings (seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, etc.) and tags in all vehicles brought in for service
- Servicing vehicles with gas, oil, and air as needed
- Helping maintain lot and shop appearance
- Transporting customers to and from their home when needed and requested
- Ensuring that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
- Following all safety and security procedures
- Performing other duties as assigned
