About The Position

The Automotive Service Advisor plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service at Larry Hopkins Honda. This position involves advising customers on necessary vehicle maintenance, diagnosing mechanical issues, and preparing repair orders. The advisor is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and relationship-building, while also managing service appointments and customer complaints.

Requirements

  • 1 year minimum Service Advisor experience - Honda or Acura a plus
  • Trainable, positive attitude and desire to succeed
  • Outgoing personality with expertise at developing solid customer service relationships
  • Superior communication and customer service skills
  • Proficient with digital communication tools
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Time management, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task are required
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented
  • Maintaining a positive, can-do attitude
  • Understand and follow work rules and procedures
  • Interact well with others and be a positive influence on employee morale
  • Uphold the company's non-disclosure and confidentiality policies and agreements
  • Pass background screening, pre-placement drug screening and must have an acceptable MVR

Nice To Haves

  • Three or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications
  • Manufacturer Training
  • Bilingual a plus

Responsibilities

  • Focused on delivering an exceptional customer experience
  • Advises customers about necessary service for routine maintenance
  • Helps identify a mechanical problem by questioning the customer or doing a visual inspection or road test
  • Confers with customers about inspection results, recommend corrective procedures and prepare work order for needed repairs
  • Prepares a repair order showing time, cost and labor estimates for service
  • Writes a brief description of the customer's concern on the repair order to help the technician locate the problem
  • Explains the work performed and the repair order charges to the customer
  • Handles customer complaints
  • Schedules service appointments
  • Obtains customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible
  • Greets customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtains vehicle information
  • Test drives the vehicle with customer as needed to confirm the problem or refer to test technician
  • Refers to service history, inspects vehicle, and recommends additional needed service
  • Advises customers on the care of their cars and the value of maintaining their vehicles in accordance with manufacturers' specifications
  • Provides a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts
  • Maintains a professional appearance
