The Service Advisor at Sunnyside Acura plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the service department. This position involves advising customers on necessary vehicle maintenance and repairs, preparing work orders, and maintaining high customer satisfaction standards. The Service Advisor will work closely with customers to understand their needs, provide accurate estimates, and facilitate the repair process while promoting the value of regular vehicle maintenance.

  • Advise customers about necessary service for routine maintenance and repair.
  • Build value and sell needed work while performing active delivery.
  • Identify mechanical problems by questioning the customer or conducting visual inspections or road tests.
  • Confer with customers about inspection results, recommend corrective procedures, and prepare work orders for needed repairs.
  • Prepare repair orders showing time, cost, and labor estimates for service.
  • Write brief descriptions of customer concerns on repair orders to assist technicians.
  • Explain work performed and repair order charges to customers.
  • Handle customer complaints and schedule service appointments.
  • Obtain customer and vehicle data prior to arrival when possible.
  • Greet customers in a timely, friendly manner and obtain vehicle information.
  • Test drive vehicles with customers as needed to confirm problems or refer to technicians.
  • Refer to service history, inspect vehicles, and recommend additional needed services.
  • Advise customers on vehicle care and the importance of maintaining vehicles according to manufacturers' specifications.
  • Provide complete and accurate written cost estimates for labor and parts.
  • Establish promised times and check with dispatchers as necessary.
  • Obtain customer signatures on repair orders and provide copies to customers.
  • Establish customers' methods of payment and obtain credit approvals if necessary.
  • Assist clients with arranging and completing loaner car contracts and check in vehicles upon return.
  • Check on the progress of repairs throughout the day and contact customers regarding changes in estimates or promised times.
  • Review repair orders to ensure work is completed and additional work is authorized.
  • Close repair orders as appropriate and implement quality control processes to eliminate comebacks.
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction standards and handle telephone inquiries regarding appointments and work in process.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and keep the work area clean.
  • Participate in all factory and dealer assigned training courses.
  • Bilingual in English and another language.
  • 1 year of experience as a Service Advisor in an automotive dealership.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Experience in service writing and sales.
  • Experience in a high-volume dealership environment.
  • Knowledge of automotive service and repair processes.
