About The Position
The Automotive Service Advisor plays a crucial role in the service department of LaFontaine Imports of Livonia, responsible for scheduling service work and selling additional services to customers. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about customer service and have a strong understanding of automotive repair processes. The Service Advisor is expected to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, as indicated by the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) rating set by the service manager. This involves greeting customers in a timely and professional manner, communicating effectively to determine the nature of their mechanical problems, and providing accurate estimates for labor and parts. The advisor must also follow up on the progress of each repair order and keep customers informed about any changes in the estimated time of service. In addition to customer interaction, the Service Advisor is responsible for maintaining accurate documentation and repair orders. This includes obtaining customer and vehicle data, test-driving vehicles when necessary, and advising customers on the care of their cars according to manufacturers' specifications. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential additional repair needs and clearly communicating these to customers. The advisor must also establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business, ensuring that both work areas and customer waiting areas are kept clean and organized.
