As an Automotive Salesperson, you will play a crucial role in satisfying the transportation needs of used-vehicle purchasers. Your responsibilities will include approaching, greeting, and assisting customers entering the dealership showroom or sales lot. You will guide customers in selecting a vehicle by understanding their preferences and suggesting suitable options. Staying updated on automobile industry terminology, product technology, and incoming inventory will be essential to your success. You will provide comprehensive product information and demonstrations to prospects, offer test drives, and demonstrate a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Utilizing dealership sales control and follow-up systems effectively will be part of your daily routine, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws governing retail auto sales. Setting and working towards personal income goals aligned with dealership standards will also be a key aspect of your role. In addition, you will explain equity, values, and depreciation to customers clearly, facilitate customer meetings with the sales manager, and complete paperwork accurately and promptly for closed deals. Preparing sold vehicles for customer delivery, ensuring cleanliness and operational features, and delivering vehicles to customers with comprehensive information on operating features, warranty, and paperwork will be part of your responsibilities. You will also introduce customers to service department personnel, emphasizing service quality and efficiency, and schedule first service appointments for customers. Following up on post-delivery items and special requests to meet customer expectations, maintaining an owner follow-up system to foster repeat and referral business, and implementing a prospect development and follow-up system will be crucial for your success. Collaborating with the service department and body shop to ensure timely vehicle reconditioning, attending sales meetings to stay informed and contribute to team objectives, assisting with the used-vehicle inspection process, and maintaining a professional business appearance at all times will round out your duties. You will also process paperwork in accordance with established dealership policies and conduct regular reviews and analysis to improve time management and efficiency.
