About The Position

The Automotive Restoration Technician / Auto Body Technician at Eastcoast Motorsports LLC is responsible for restoring classic and vintage cars to their original condition. This role requires a deep understanding of vehicle structure, particularly for classic and muscle cars, and involves using various tools and techniques to perform body repairs, refinishing, and preparation for painting. The technician will work independently and as part of a team, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Requirements

• Detailed knowledge and understanding of vehicle structure, especially for classic and muscle cars.
• Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment, such as lifts.
• Experience in welding and fabrication, priming, masking, and sanding.
• Minimum of five years of experience in automotive body work.
• Familiarity with the characteristics of metals and compounds used in vehicle construction.
• Skills to dismantle and reassemble parts using cutting tools as necessary.
• Knowledge of inspecting and repairing vehicle components like motors, transmissions, and radiators is a plus.
• Willingness to observe all safety precautions against accidents and hazardous materials.
• Must bring personal tools to the job.
• Ability to follow all workplace safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Use knowledge and judgment to assess whether a vehicle can be safely restored.
• Utilize a full range of repair techniques to restore vehicles.
• Repair, replace, and upgrade various vehicle parts as needed.
• Restore bodywork to its original condition using fillers and body repair products.
• Check surfaces for imperfections before painting.
• Maintain logs on work performed and issues encountered.
• Keep the workplace organized and maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a positive team attitude.
