About The Position

We are seeking an Automotive Refinish & Body Technician responsible for performing high‑quality refinishing work, surface preparation, and body repair on Toyota vehicles. This role includes polishing old or damaged surfaces, coating or painting vehicles, and completing body repair tasks to restore vehicles to manufacturer standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years of automotive refinishing experience with waterborne paint systems.
  • Body repair experience strongly preferred.
  • ASE certification preferred; Toyota certification a plus.
  • Willingness to complete all Toyota training requirements and pass ASE B2.
  • Experience using Color Net preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean MVR; ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds and perform full range of motion (bending, squatting, standing, sitting, grasping).
  • Reliable work history with consistent attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all paint and refinish operations with a high level of proficiency in both quality and production.
  • Complete final prep, masking, sanding, and tack procedures prior to paint application.
  • Identify proper color and variant for application using approved tools and systems.
  • Create spray‑out/let‑down panels as needed for color and coat verification.
  • Stage paint operations to maximize efficiency and paint booth utilization.
  • Polish and buff painted or damaged surfaces to restore finish quality.
  • Follow all hazardous waste disposal guidelines and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Assist with material ordering and maintain the mixing room to ensure adequate supply levels.
  • Use proper respirators and all required PPE for each task.
  • Perform cosmetic repairs, including dent removal, panel straightening, and alignment.
  • Repair or replace damaged body components using approved repair methods and equipment.
  • Conduct surface preparation including sanding, grinding, filling, and priming to ensure proper adhesion and finish.
  • Inspect vehicles for additional damage and communicate findings to leadership as needed.
  • Fit, align, and adjust repaired or replaced panels to meet factory specifications.
  • Work collaboratively with refinish and mechanical teams to ensure smooth workflow and high‑quality results.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition and follow all safety procedures.
  • Additional tasks may be assigned, and job scope may change based on business needs.
  • Maintain excellent attendance, professionalism, and flexibility, including occasional overtime or Saturday work.
