About The Position

The Reconditioning Manager leads all automotive reconditioning departments, including body work, paint, detailing, paint correction, PDR, and wheel repair, in a high-volume environment. This role drives production, quality, and labor efficiency to ensure vehicles are retail-ready while supporting shop-floor operations as needed and maintaining KPI and operational accountability.

Requirements

3+ years of hands-on automotive reconditioning experience, including leadership responsibility
Direct experience performing one or more recon services such as detailing, paint correction, body work, PDR, wheel repair, or paint prep
Proven ability to lead production while maintaining shop-floor involvement
Experience operating in a high-volume, production-driven environment
Strong understanding of quality control, workflow management, and labor efficiency

Nice To Haves

Dealership, collision center, auction, or fleet reconditioning experience
Former technician promoted into a supervisory or management role
Multi-department recon oversight
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Familiarity with Paycom, Indeed, or production tracking systems

Responsibilities

Oversee end-to-end automotive reconditioning operations across body work, paint, detailing, paint correction, PDR, and wheel repair
Lead daily production with active shop-floor visibility to ensure cycle time, throughput, and retail-ready quality standards are achieved
Establish and enforce quality control standards to minimize rework and maintain consistency
Manage labor planning, productivity, and operational efficiency in a high-volume environment
Develop, coach, and hold reconditioning staff accountable to performance, safety, and SOPs
