Automotive Parts Manager Salary: $65k/yr Major Responsibility: Responsible for the overall inventorying, sourcing, ordering and distribution of parts, tires and other supplies in connection with the maintenance, service and repair of fleet vehicles to maximize fleet utilization and profitability for the City/District. Essential duties include, but are not limited to, the below and may vary based on assignment: Manages performance of team members/employees against business plan by setting, communicating, monitoring and updating goals as needed for key performance indicators on a regular and consistent basis for parts sourcing, ordering and distribution including, but not limited to, percent out of service, warranty recovery versus parts and labor and overdue idle cars. Develops, implements and communicates operating plans to source and order parts, control inventory, return obsolete or overstocked parts and replenish inventory of common usage parts/tires. Assesses open repair orders on a daily basis to establish daily workload; holds daily pre-shift meetings with team members to review prior day performance and communicate daily workload and goals. Ensures all repair orders are completed and processed in accordance with established guidelines. Forecasts, budgets and manages key financial drivers for all parts, including but not limited to, tires and keys Manages and maintains appropriate vendor and dealer relationships and workload assignment, ensuring established service levels and quality standards are met and that all vendor management policies and procedures are followed. Ensures proper use of purchase orders, receipt of services and/goods, timely submission of invoices for approval and the timely payment of invoices. Maintain up to date files on vendor insurance policies. At bussing locations, oversees the ordering of parts for the repair and/or maintenance of all busses for the operation. Train SC Clerks and/or Parts Clerks in the Area and/or Region on parts sourcing, ordering and assignment to repair orders. Manages all areas of the employee lifecycle including hiring, on-onboarding, training, recognition and performance management of employees to enable a high performance culture supervises, develops, motivates, recognizes and evaluates the performance of manager and employee staff to enable a high performing culture. Manages all facets of employee relations, including, but not limited to, implementing HR policies and practices in a consistent and fair manner, in accordance with Company policies and partnering with Human Resources Business Partners where appropriate. Provides a safe work environment by ensuring all safety policies and practices are followed and maintained. May be required to additional duties as assigned by management.
