About The Position

The Automotive Parts Counter Sales Representative is responsible for providing exceptional service to both internal service technicians and external retail/wholesale customers. This role requires strong product knowledge, efficiency, and accuracy in parts lookup, ordering, and inventory management. The ideal candidate has previous dealership parts experience, with General Motors (GM) knowledge strongly preferred, and thrives in a fast-paced, process-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Previous automotive dealership parts counter experience (REQUIRED)
  • General Motors (GM) parts experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of parts lookup systems and dealership workflows
  • Ability to read and interpret parts diagrams and technical data
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills close attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer proficiency (DMS, EPC, inventory systems)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of automotive parts and systems
  • Proficiency in using parts lookup software and computer systems

Responsibilities

  • Assist retail, wholesale, and internal customers with parts inquiries and purchases
  • Accurately identify parts using OEM catalogs, EPC systems, and VIN decoding
  • Maintain efficient parts ordering, receiving, and stocking processes
  • Ensure proper pricing, invoicing, and documentation for all transactions
  • Collaborate closely with service advisors and technicians to support workflow
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels, including special orders and backorders
  • Follow all GM parts procedures, dealership policies, and compliance standards
  • Maintain clean, organized, and customer-ready parts counter and inventory areas
  • Upsell related parts and accessories to maximize customer value and dealership profitability
  • Deliver a world-class customer experience with every interaction
