The Automotive Operations Supervisor at Aerotek is responsible for meeting departmental business objectives related to safety, quality, productivity, and responsiveness. This role involves supporting hourly employees, addressing performance behaviors, and utilizing problem-solving processes to enhance operational efficiency. The supervisor will conduct daily meetings, perform safety observations, and ensure compliance with contractual requirements while fostering a positive work environment.

  • Meet business objectives for department regarding safety, quality, productivity, and responsiveness.
  • Counsel and support hourly employees with their needs and concerns as required.
  • Address performance behaviors by commending positive actions and discouraging negative ones.
  • Utilize the Quality Network problem-solving process to address opportunities within the area and engage the workforce for ideas.
  • Apply the Workplace Organization (WPO) process to improve layouts and efficiency.
  • Perform daily Timekeeping System (TKS) updates to ensure accurate payroll data processing.
  • Use A-3 reporting format to document problem-solving activities and observe local A-3 guidelines.
  • Conduct daily huddle-up meetings to communicate business performance and facilitate two-way discussions with employees.
  • Perform and document weekly safety observation tours of the department.
  • Plan daily workload in advance.
  • Support colleagues to optimize shift performance.
  • Observe contractual requirements (National & Local).
  • Enforce shop rules.
  • Perform daily SOP audit checks.
  • Advance skills through the Individual Development Plan (IDP) process.
  • Keep the General Supervisor Shop Committee apprised of all pending activities.
  • Experience in a supervisory role within an automotive or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively support and counsel employees.
  • Ability to apply problem-solving techniques and engage employees in process improvements.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards in the workplace.
  • Experience with timekeeping and payroll systems.
  • Familiarity with the Quality Network problem-solving process.
  • Experience with Workplace Organization (WPO) methodologies.
  • Previous experience in conducting safety audits and observations.
