Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on company-owned tractors and trailers. Drive tractors and trailers to test that repairs meet requirements and conform to safety standards. Follow and commit to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for safety, quality, production, efficiency, and service requirements. Follow practices and processes intended to provide safe products that comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality standards. Properly diagnose and perform preventive maintenance and repairs on tractors and trailers, including but not limited to gas and diesel-powered engines, hydraulic and air brake systems, drivetrain, suspension, chassis and electrical systems. Disassemble, examine parts for defects and excessive wear, recondition and replace parts. Estimate and price repairs, order and inventory parts as necessary. Drive tractors and trailers as needed to validate that repairs meet regulatory requirements and conform to safety standards. Drive diesel or gas tractor in accordance with commercial driving regulations of State Department of Transportation (DOT), US DOT, and the Interstate Commerce Commission (ICC). Operate Electronic Log Device (ELD), ELD software, and maintain accurate records per local, state, and federal regulations, DOT's and ICC's laws as necessary. Submit to random drug test as prescribed by DOT regulations. Perform maintenance and driving practices and processes intended to safely maintain the fleet and comply with appropriate laws and regulations, meet the company quality and safety standards to serve the needs of our customers. Support Operational Excellence and effectively participate in lean initiatives and problem-solving activities as needed. Participate in safety meetings per Corporate guidelines.
