This position repairs and maintains a variety of makes and models of passenger automobiles, motorcycles, trucks and heavy and light public works vehicles and equipment; reports to the Fleet Manager.
Responsibilities
Inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and intricate rebuilding/reconstructing of vehicles within the City's fleet.
Recovery/recycling refrigerants from motor vehicle air conditioners.
Maintaining motors at water and sewer pump stations throughout the City.
Providing inspections on police-related accident investigations.
Performing changeovers to vehicles in police, fire and other units that may include installing radios, lights, computers, cages, etc.
Requirements
CDL A with air brake and tanker certifications required.
State certified Class 7 licensing in inspections and emissions.
Refrigerant recovery/recycling certification is required.
Must pass a criminal background investigation, pre-employment physical, and drug test.
