About The Position

Dearth GMC in Monroe is accepting applications for our Automotive Mechanic/Technician position! This position is ideal for an individual with previous automotive experience, excellent communication skills, and excellent customer service skills. Responsibilities: Perform work specified on repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership policies Test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems (electrical and mechanical) Primary Duties: Verify vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety and combustion control standards Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to keep customers informed with the most up to date information Maintain vehicle records by recording service and repairs Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications Keep supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt Maintain shop equipment through troubleshooting and preforming preventive maintenance Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Technical degree in related field is preferred
  • Previous experience in the automotive field
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain one
  • Able to provide personal tools
  • Ability to work in an environment with frequent exposure to outside weather elements
  • Ability to work 8-10 hour days, including overtime hours as needed
  • Ability to bend, stoop, crawl, walk and sit on a regular basis with frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • ASE certifications is a plus
