The Automotive Mechanic Senior will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Automotive Mechanic Senior mentors and oversees team member's technical deliverables to ensure Roush and customer standards are met.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 8 years of work experience as a Mechanic
• Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment
• Good attention to detail and organizational skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team and able to mentor and train others
• Has own tools with rolling toolbox
• Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures

Nice To Haves

• Certificate in Automotive Technology or related State Mechanic Certification(s)
• Valid driver's license
• Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers
• Experience working in a manufacturing facility
• Knowledge of vehicle communication networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
• Familiar with vehicle integration software and data collection
• Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends

Responsibilities

• Perform initial vehicle diagnostics/root cause analysis for reported issues, and document findings in appropriate systems
• Maintain test vehicle functional condition by conducting inspections and performing required hardware updates
• Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components
• Support installation of vehicle measurement equipment and data readout as needed (loggers, breakout boxes)
• Perform short testing drives to validate repairs and updates
• Read, interpret, and follow service procedures and HW retrofit instructions
• Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders in appropriate documentation tools
• Train new team members on rework, documentation, and troubleshooting processes and steps as needed
• Participate in daily shop team meetings and maintain a clean and organized workspace
