The Automotive Mechanic Senior will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Automotive Mechanic Senior mentors and oversees team member’s technical deliverables to ensure Roush and customer standards are met. This position is located in Allen Park, MI. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • US Citizen
  • Minimum of 8 years of work experience as a mechanic
  • Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team and able to mentor and train others
  • Has own tools with rolling toolbox and able to work overtime and weekends
  • Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to travel up to 40 percent
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate in Automotive Technology or related
  • State Mechanic Certification(s)
  • Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers

Responsibilities

  • Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections
  • Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components
  • Read, interpret, and follow service procedures
  • Train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and is available as a subject matter expert to assist the team and customer
  • Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs
  • Assist with daily shop organization and clean-up
