About The Position

Performs preventive maintenance and/or repairs on company vehicles and equipment, some of which are specialized in nature. Ensures that all vehicles and equipment service and repair procedures comply with required safety procedures. Repairs or replaces parts on vehicles and equipment as instructed. Verifies that vehicles and equipment can pass appropriate safety inspections. Conducts timely Job Performance Evaluation on subordinates. Communicates with the field concerning heavy equipment operations. Maintains, repairs and services all vehicles and equipment. Determines the need and extent of repair work required on vehicles and equipment based on operator's reports and testing equipment. Performs field mechanic duties, as assigned. Coordinates functions related to production and inventory control, and reviews completed sales orders. Directs operation of facilities utilized for repairing, servicing, and storing motor vehicles. Assists in instructing Apprentices on work procedures applicable to their respective Apprenticeship level. Working with computers, Microsoft software, SAP, Knowledge of working with invoices and Purchasing department in getting invoices paid with vendors. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate
  • Journeyman certification from a Bonafide Apprenticeship program
  • Vocational/Specialized Training in related field
  • 5 - 7 years' experience in Automotive/Mechanical work
  • Experience in Auto Mechanic
  • Requires a Valid CDL Driver's License, Class "A" with HAZMAT Endorsement required (subject to motor vehicle record review)
