Requirements

  • Must hold an active driver's license issued by the state of employment.
  • Must meet all Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) requirements for assigned work.
  • Must provide and maintain personal hand tools necessary to complete job assignments.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday on a consistent schedule.
  • 3-5 years of documented automotive mechanical experience.
  • Proficient in using diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and computers.
  • Possesses a complete set of required personal hand tools.
  • Class A/B or A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
  • Dependable and able to report to work on time daily and complete scheduled shifts.
  • Willingness to work additional hours or overtime depending on service needs.
  • Consistently wear personal protective equipment as required.
  • Work effectively in environments with variable temperatures, humidity, exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, noise, and outdoor weather.
  • Strong ability to work cooperatively in a diverse team environment.
  • Able to communicate effectively through sight, hearing, and/or other methods to ensure safety and task completion.

Responsibilities

  • Perform frequent physical activities such as bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs, standing, walking, and pivoting throughout the workday.
  • Sit infrequently as required to complete job tasks.
  • Use hand skills including simple grasping, power grasping, fine manipulation, and reaching from floor level to above shoulder height.
  • Safely operate vehicles with standard and manual transmissions.
  • Utilize power tools and pneumatic tools as necessary.
  • Service and maintain a fleet consisting of Freightliner package cars equipped with GM 6.0L and 6.6L engines paired with Allison automatic transmissions.
  • Service Ford package cars equipped with 6.8L and 7.3L engines paired with Ford 6R140 automatic transmissions.
  • Occasional service on tractors, tractor dollies, and trailers may also be required.
