The automotive/heavy equipment technician may be assigned to light automotive, heavy truck/equipment, or fire apparatus. Assignment is subject to change according to business needs. The Light Automotive Technician will be responsible for preventive maintenance services, diagnosing and the repairing of automobiles and light trucks to include drivability, suspension systems, brake systems, engine, and transmission. The Heavy Equipment Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing commercial and diesel vehicles, heavy equipment, and machinery to include troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems; reading and understanding hydraulic and electrical schematics; troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines (Cat, Cummins, Detroit); and maintaining routine maintenance schedules on all Heavy Equipment. The Fire Apparatus Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing fire apparatus to include troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems; reading and understanding hydraulic and electrical schematics; troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines (Cat, Cummins, Detroit); and maintaining routine maintenance schedules. Enhances schedules on all Fire Equipment.
