About The Position

The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe, reliable, and cost‑efficient fleet of ground support equipment and street vehicles. This role ensures the proper use, care, and compliance of physical assets through preventative maintenance programs, repair oversight, vendor management, and regular audits. The supervisor leads and develops automotive mechanics, monitors maintenance performance, controls operating costs, and implements efficiency and cost‑saving initiatives.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical fundamentals, maintenance practices, diagnostics, and repair processes for vehicle or aircraft fleet operations
  • Proven ability to manage equipment inspections, troubleshoot issues, and oversee repairs involving tools, machinery, and technical equipment
  • Minimum of five years’ experience supervising automotive or fleet maintenance personnel
  • Ability to manage physical assets and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to manage costs, analyze trends, and support operational efficiency initiatives
  • Must be able to work Monday-Friday, starting time 5pm-7pm
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and oversee preventative maintenance inspections; review results and ensure corrective actions are completed effectively.
  • Monitor vehicle and equipment repairs to ensure adherence to safety regulations, compliance requirements, and appearance standards.
  • Conduct regular vehicles, equipment, and facility audits to verify compliance with policies, procedures, and manufacturer standards.
  • Analyze equipment and vehicle system failures to identify root causes and implement long‑term corrective solutions.
  • Coordinate and manage equipment repairs in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels for parts, tires, tools, and supplies to support maintenance operations.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure service quality, cost control, and contract compliance.
  • Review, approve, and control automotive expenses in alignment with purchasing limits, approval procedures, and cost plans.
  • Monitor fleet maintenance data, identify cost trends, and recommend cost‑saving strategies to improve operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with equipment disposal and asset lifecycle guidelines.
  • Supervise, train, and coach mechanics to ensure consistent performance and skill development.
  • Identify employee training needs and develop continuous improvement and development plans.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and address individual and team performance issues in a timely and constructive manner.
