About The Position

Provides maintenance and repairs on mobile equipment such as electric pallet jacks (long and short), forklifts, tuggers, and minor work on company fleet vehicles. Light AC electrical and Pick-A-Belt conveyor system maintenance and repair will be required as needed.

Requirements

  • Experience in conducting routine maintenance services, inspections, and vehicle repair.
  • Experience using necessary tools for typical maintenance and repair.
  • Practical knowledge and use of specialty tools and diagnostic scanners.
  • Ability to drive and operate various vehicles.
  • Ability to operate vehicles with manual and automatic transmission.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment and lifting equipment such as forklifts and hoists.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
  • Able to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, crouch, and perform job duties in and underneath equipment.
  • Be able to move, lift, or carry up to 100 pounds.
  • Sound problem solving skills.
  • Troubleshoot problems.
  • Other duties as necessary.
  • Certificate from a college or technical school or three to six months of related experience and/or training.
  • Will also consider a combination of education and verifiable experience.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and replace damaged or worn parts in a timely manner to support warehouse services.
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using tools, hoists, and tools (both hand and powered)
  • Adjust points, spark plug gaps, valves, distributors, and fuel delivery systems.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
  • Maintain and repair gasoline, diesel, and electric powered equipment, cars, trucks, and raising equipment using hydraulic jacks and hoists.
  • Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose any defects.
  • Test mechanical products and equipment after repair of assemble to ensure proper function and performance, and compliance with manufacturer's specifications.
  • Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment.
  • Keep detailed records of repairs, tools, inventory of parts, order forms, maintenance schedules, etc.
  • Consistently maintain all safety precautions and systems using all safety gear and protective equipment.
  • Always utilize proper safety techniques and equipment.
