About The Position
The Automotive Technology Department at Southern Maine Community College is seeking a part-time instructor for the Spring Semester 2024 to teach automotive electrical 1. The instructor will be responsible for guiding students through the course material with patience and clarity, while fostering a safe and respectful classroom environment. Responsibilities include utilizing the SMCC online learning management system (Brightspace) for deploying, grading, and tracking homework, tests, quizzes, and lab assignments. The instructor will also handle final grade reporting through the MYSMCC system and ensure that students maintain a clean and organized shop, account for tools, and adhere to proper uniform and PPE requirements during labs. Each week, the instructor will deliver both theory and hands-on lab sessions.
