About The Position

Advanced Transmission, Inc. in Spanish Fort, AL, is looking for a full-time Automotive Diagnostic Technician to join our team! The pay for this position is $30-$45/hour , depending on experience. YOUR HOURS Work Monday – Thursday, 7:30 am – 5:30 pm, and Friday, 7:30 am – 12:00 pm, so you can start your weekend early. YOUR ROLE AS OUR AUTOMOTIVE DIAGNOSTIC TECHNICIAN You spend your day tackling complex automotive challenges with confidence. From skillfully removing and reinstalling transmissions to diagnosing drivability issues using advanced tools and Mitchell1 software, you ensure every vehicle meets our high standards. You'll handle maintenance services, test-drive vehicles to confirm repairs, and collaborate with builders and service advisors to keep the workflow smooth. Whether calibrating systems, scanning for issues, or performing wire repairs, you take pride in precision. You also pitch in with shop upkeep and teamwork, making sure the bay stays organized and every job gets done right. Requirements

Strong electrical diagnostic abilities
At least 3 years of hands-on automotive experience
Proven ability to remove and replace transmissions within or under book time
Personal basic tool set and the ability to use it effectively
A collaborative mindset and solid teamwork skills
Well-rounded mechanical knowledge with strong problem-solving abilities
Proficiency with Mitchell1, Identifix, and ProDemand
Versatility to operate as both a diagnostician and a swing tech (diagnostics, minor repairs, and occasional R&R support)
Capability to perform minor repairs in and around transmission systems
Accurate diagnostic skills for transmission failures, engine misfires, drivability concerns, and mechanical issues
Physical ability to lift heavy components and work efficiently
A valid driver's license with the ability to drive both automatic and manual vehicles
Experience programming vehicle control modules using OE and aftermarket software
