About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Car Deal Clerk to join our dealership team. The Deal Clerk is responsible for processing vehicle sales transactions, verifying deal documentation, and ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and in compliance with dealership policies and state regulations. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely funding, accurate accounting, and a smooth customer transaction process. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Accounting or Business preferred
  • 1–3 years of automotive dealership accounting or deal processing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of dealership management systems (DMS) is a plus
  • Strong understanding of automotive sales documentation and titling processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Analytical and detail-oriented
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude

Nice To Haves

  • associate degree in Accounting or Business preferred

Responsibilities

  • Review and process all new and used vehicle deal paperwork for accuracy and completeness
  • Verify retail, lease, wholesale, and dealer trade transactions
  • Post vehicle sales, cost of sales, commissions, and related accounting entries
  • Submit contracts to lenders and follow up on funding status
  • Ensure all required documents (titles, applications, payoff information, etc.) are included in each deal jacket
  • Reconcile schedules related to vehicle receivables, rebates, and commissions
  • Coordinate with the Finance & Insurance (F&I) department, sales team, and accounting office
  • Process payoffs for trade-ins and follow up on titles
  • Maintain organized digital and physical records of all transactions
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures
