About The Position
Elder Ford of Tampa, part of Lithia & Driveway (a Fortune 500 company and the largest automotive dealership group globally with over 400 dealerships across 29 states and 3 countries), is seeking a skilled Body Shop Metal Technician (Automotive Collision Repair Specialist). The specialist will be responsible for performing high-quality collision repair, structural repair, and auto body restoration in accordance with manufacturer, insurance, and safety standards.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in auto body repair, collision repair, or body shop technician roles
- Knowledge of automotive repair tools, frame machines, welding, and refinishing prep
- Strong understanding of vehicle systems, structural integrity, and repair procedures
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- High School graduate or equivalent, 18 years or older required
Responsibilities
- Inspect and assess vehicle damage to create accurate repair plans and estimates
- Perform auto body repair, dent removal, frame straightening, and metal work
- Manage collision repair parts inventory and ensure accuracy
- Track repair progress and workflow to meet production timelines
- Complete detailed repair orders, documentation, and insurance compliance records
- Maintain and properly use body shop tools, welding equipment, and repair systems
